I recently had the great fortune of travelling around the country on the membership bootcamp and witnessing the variety of organisations that play vital roles within our communities across Australia.
The importance of these organisations, no matter how big or small, represent the rich mosaic of culture, values, equity and diversity with our current society that have enriched and strengthened the people and groups they represent.Throughout the trip Ive noticed a common denominator amongst the organisations. What resonated out of the trip was the need to attract a greater membership base and the challenges of increasing funding opportunities are an ongoing concern. Its now time maybe more so than ever before for us to discover new ways to create funding from innovative and creative sources.
The existing paradigms of funding have been traditionally based on events and campaigns which are costly both financially and in human resources. Imagine if we think outside the four walls that we all operate in and introduce a concept that will increase your funds without any extra costs or outlay.
There must be better ways to create a long term sustainable income that will help us through the tough times and thrive in the good times. One of the easiest ways to help funds go further is to either reduce staff or cancel programs. However, through services that we all use on a daily basis within our home and office, an income can be generated through an existing pool of money. Imagine making a phone call from your home and knowing that every time you call someone you are raising money for a not for profit organisation.
Anyone who has a house or car would have some form of insurance, wouldnt you feel a little bit better if every time you had to make that payment you knew that you were raising funds for organisation that you care so much for.By introducing these products you are adding value to your membership base, which invariably enhances the prospects of achieving higher member retention. If you could not only reduce the cost you pay for all those services but also generate long term sustainable income would you do it? I dont suppose your members or supporters would like to save money and help secure the long term prosperity of your organisation.
VaultOne have taken everyday products and created the opportunity of turning them into everyday income. As they say if it costs you a cent more dont do it, but if you can save money and at the same time generate a sustainable income why wouldnt you. After hearing and learning from those who attended bootcamp I believe that it is time to break the shackles and discover the hidden treasure that just might be in your own office.
